As you may know, Village Code requires permits for moorings placed in Village waters. Late last year, the Village appointed a new Waterways Commissioner with the intention of updating, standardizing and modernizing the mooring permit process. To that end, the Village has partnered with Online Mooring, LLC to offer a convenient, fully electronic application management system. Applications, payments and permit issuance can now be handled entirely online.

Effective immediately, all moorings in Village waters will need a current, Village-issued mooring permit. Whether you have an existing mooring(s) or would like to apply for a new permit, we ask that you submit an application at https://my.onlinemooring.com/DeringHarborNY/home.aspx . Please complete one application for each of the moorings you currently have or would like. Our Waterways Commissioner will verify the location(s) submitted to ensure they are both suitable and compliant.

During this transition, all existing mooring holders will be given until July 1st, 2025 to submit applications. Non-permitted moorings remaining in Village waters after July 1st, 2025 may be removed pursuant to the Village Code.
