Water Quality Update – December 7, 2018

Dear neighbors,

Very good news: our water quality has substantially improved now that we have switched over to the new tank! This improvement is due to the fact that our water usage has declined dramatically since last week’s switched over from the old leaky tank. The chloride level of Well #2 is 131.5 ppm as of 12/5 and the chloride level of Well #1 is at 105.4 ppm as of 12/4, both well below the 250 ppm cut off for drinking water. Patrick has prepared an in-depth overview of the water system for tomorrow’s meeting. We will send it out afterwards for those who are unable to attend. In other positive news, the Suffolk County advisory that I sent out last week about fishing in a specific area of Greenport has been cleared.
Thanks,
Betsy
